Why choose Reflection Detailing for paint correction?
Visible swirl + scratch removal
1-step corrects 60-70% of defects. 2-step handles 80-95% including deeper scratches.
Paint depth restored
Corrected paint looks wet — the difference is immediately visible in direct sunlight.
Prepped for coating
Paint correction is REQUIRED before ceramic coating. Coating locks in defects if you skip this step.
Paint-safe process
Certified technique and paint thickness gauges ensure we never remove more clear coat than is safe.
Long-lasting results
Corrected paint stays corrected for years. Only proper wash technique is needed to maintain it.
Our Paint Correction Process

Paint Correction FAQ
How do I know if I need paint correction? +
Look at your paint in direct sunlight. If you see spider-web swirls, cloudy hazing, or halos around light scratches, your paint needs correction. Most daily drivers collect noticeable swirls within 1-2 years.
Is paint correction safe? +
Yes, when done by a certified professional with paint-thickness gauges. We measure your specific paint thickness before polishing to ensure we never remove more clear coat than is safe. Uncertified shops often over-polish and burn through clear coat.
How long does paint correction last? +
The correction itself is permanent — those swirls are gone forever. New swirls can develop from improper washing, so we recommend proper wash technique and an optional ceramic coating to lock in the results.
Do I need paint correction before a ceramic coating? +
Yes. Ceramic coating is transparent — it seals in whatever is underneath. If you skip correction, any existing swirls and defects get permanently locked under the coating. Every one of our ceramic jobs includes at minimum a 1-step correction for this reason.
What is the difference between polish and compound? +
Compound is more abrasive — it cuts deeper to remove heavier defects. Polish is finer — it refines and adds gloss. A 2-step uses both in sequence.
